PREVENTING AUTOMOBILE CRASHES IS IMPORTANT

Research conducted has shown that the population group most likely to have an automobile crash is young drivers.  Some factors contributing to high crash risk can be attributed to age, gender or driving skills as well as social factors such as when and how often these young drivers are on the road driving.  Furthermore research conducted has shown that young car drivers are five to 10 times more likely to experience injuries and young males as compared to young females have higher crash rates.
In addition, increased crash rates have to do with the amount of the frequency of driving on the road, when young drivers are on the road, and factors connected with the young driver social and peer relationships.
Finally, studies conducted suggest that it is critical to undertake and adopt counter measures to reduce crash rates by young adults.

TEENAGER SEAT BELT USE AND SAFETY ON THE ROAD

There is strong evidence from data source of the 2006 Young National Driver Survey in the United States regarding safety belt use and preventing death and acquired disability for teenagers.  This evidence is supported by the fact that safety belt laws are a critical aspect for reinforcement in the prevention of death and disability.According to this study, it was determined that teenaged drivers were 12% less likely to wear safety belts and 15% less likely to wear them as passengers. Those states that had secondary enforced of safety belts use showed apparent reduction of this practice as compared to states were primary enforcement of belt use were prevalent.  So it is important to be aware based on the results of this study that belt use and laws enforcing belt use while driving or while being a passenger lowers crash-related injuries and mortality.
